I stayed up till three in the morning making a photo slideshow showing the Philippines as progressive and had to come in by 8:30 AM. I was really sleepy and sluggish through out the day and I realized ... it is really more worth while to serve God instead of man.

The pic is me... looking drunk from lack of sleep. hahahahaha

Cinderella

Last Saturday, I went to watch Cinderella with Janice, Maia, Sette, DonDon and Cha, who got the last minute ticket since Boyet could not make it. We booked the tickets last year and have been waiting with anticipation. I did not know beforehand but we got seats on the top most level and I got dizzy. The nausea went away when the lights started to dim and I could not see the floor anymore.

I was expecting a musical since Lea Salonga is in it and was very disappointed. The musical score was not great, not even moving at all. It SEEMED mostly spoken monologues or dialogues. Aside from Lea, or it might be because of Lea, the other casts voices does not sound great but then again we were on the top most level. Wahahahaha

The things I liked about the play was the great costumes, beautiful stage design and great effects. Basically, my eyes enjoyed the play but my ears were sadly disappointed.

Usually if the play is not good I fall asleep, this time around Janice (who loves watching plays) fell asleep =P

Overall, if I have to do it again... I won't go.

what to do with the 3rd stick ?

Ever since my diet started... I don't normally deviate from my usual. From my usual lunch haunts or takeout to my usual seat in the pantry. So when I chance upon something unusual... it is worth documenting? hehehe

Eniways... just got a pack of chopsticks with a pair and a half in it. ^_^
And we were wondering what to do with the 3rd stick during lunch. wahahaha

Yahoo! SG Hack Day - Haya & Carol

I had no plan to participate but then Carol had an idea and asked me to team up with her. We ended up making a small mobile widget that allows the user to compare gadget prices. It was implemented using Y! Shopping API and Blueprint. ^_^ We got third place.

Song of Solomon 8:6-7

Found this in the bible about love. ^_^

6 Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy [a] unyielding as the grave. [b]
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame. [c]

7 Many waters cannot quench love;
rivers cannot wash it away.
If one were to give
all the wealth of his house for love,
it [d] would be utterly scorned.

There's a Fine Fine Line ^_^

November flies so fast. So far… we have celebrated Janice, Ehlees and Tintoi’s birthday. Melvin came for a visit last weekend in time for Janice’s birthday celebration. We went to watch Avenue Q. I was a bit apprehensive about the play at first… the only song I was familiar with was “The Internet is For Porn” and I was expecting puppets…the typical puppet show where puppets has strings. Wahaha I could have looked it up of course but I don’t want spoilers. Hehehe

Avenue Q was hilarious. After getting used to the actors carrying around the puppets, I was able to fully appreciate the music and the humor. Our row (Janice, Rosette, Melvin and Me) was laughing so hard when “The Internet is For Porn” was sung. But my favorite song from the play was “There’s a Fine Fine Line”. When Janice heard the first few measures of the music, she leaned over and gestured to me to pay attention. Hahaha Hearing the first stanza was like hearing someone singing my love life.

“There's a fine, fine line between a lover and a friend;
There's a fine, fine line between reality and pretend;
And you never know 'til you reach the top if it was worth the uphill climb.

There's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.”

I sat still and paid attention… hahaha the rest of the song completely resonates with my recent mindset. =) I left the Philippines with the realization that my unrequited love was a complete waste of time… three years deluding myself that there’s hope.

“There's a fine, fine line between a fairy tale and a lie;
And there's a fine, fine line between "You're wonderful" and "Goodbye."
I guess if someone doesn't love you back it isn't such a crime,
But there's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of your time.”

The rest of the song sort of affirms my decision to move on with my life.

“And I don't have the time to waste on you anymore.
I don't think that you even know what you're looking for.
For my own sanity, I've got to close the door
And walk away...
Oh...

There's a fine, fine line between together and not
And there's a fine, fine line between what you wanted and what you got.
You gotta go after the things you want while you're still in your prime...

There's a fine, fine line between love
And a waste of time.”
